A message from Rachel
My goal is to help you create a rich life for yourself by fostering your resilience and capacity to feel. I believe those seeking therapy have a “gut instinct” that understanding themselves in a more complete way can open the door to a more fulfilling life. Knowing ourselves is a critical tool that can empower us.
I am a psychodynamically-oriented psychotherapist and licensed social worker. I have experience working with mood, anxiety, and personality disorders, as well as developmental trauma, concerns about self-image, relationships, and career. I hold a certificate in trauma-informed care, and have research experience in maternal-infant attachment.
I deeply value the power of the relationship between the therapist and the client. I very much look forward to building an experience together that makes you feel heard and understood.

I am a Licensed Master of Social Work practicing in New York, New York. My work focuses on the relationship between attachment style and trauma history and how both the mind and body experience this relationship. I have a background in work with trauma and attachment through my undergraduate education at Barnard College of Columbia University; my Masters of Social Work at NYU; and I am continuing to broaden my knowledge base through my doctoral work in Clinical Psychology at City College of New York.
I have experience with Mother-Infant Attachment research through Columbia University’s New York State Psychiatric Institute, and use this research to inform my clinical work. I also have experience working psychodynamically at the Training Institute of Mental Health and in my doctoral studies
I utilize a relational, collaborative lens with my clients in which my clients can feel a sense of agency and empowerment over their own therapeutic experience. I believe strongly in the therapeutic relationship as the foundation of my therapeutic work. When working with me, you can expect a warm and feelingful environment in which we can have open dialogue about life experiences.
