A message from Lydia

Therapy is kind of weird. You show up each week and share intimate details of your life with someone who, at least in the beginning, is little more than a stranger. I appreciate the courage it takes to do this and will meet your vulnerability with compassion and without judgment.

My approach integrates talk, movement, visualization, meditation, and writing. I bring humor, creativity, and curiosity to every session, guiding you to a place of greater self-understanding and acceptance. Our work together isn’t about figuring out how to completely eliminate uncomfortable emotions, afterall, the full breadth of emotion is what makes us human. It’s about learning how to navigate and manage these uncomfortable emotions so you’re not overcome by them and can live with more ease.

Whether you’re struggling with anxiety or depression, navigating a breakup, considering a career change or just want to get to know yourself better, I will hold space for you.

  • My approach is warm yet direct. I’ll ask you hard questions, challenge existing beliefs, and help you uncover and address what’s preventing you from living a more satisfying and fulfilling life. From journaling to somatic work to guided meditation, I integrate a variety of healing modalities into our work together, and will assign “homework” whenever we find it appropriate.

We’re all part of larger interconnected systems (families, communities, cultures, and societies) and I think it’s vital to consider these elements in our work together. Whether it’s harmful family dynamics or systemic oppression, I help you identify what isn’t within your control and harness what is. Together we’ll learn how you can better navigate the reality of the world we live in and shed self-blame for things that aren’t yours to hold onto.

I provide you with tools to trust your intuition, cope with uncomfortable emotions, and grow self-love. With a stronger sense of self you will move forward with clarity and confidence in ways that may surprise you.
